The Mission of the Atlantic City Art Center, the only exhibiting center in the Nation located on a municipal pier extending into the Atlantic Ocean, is to provide for the Southern region of New Jersey including economically and culturally diverse constituents, the opportunity for cultural experience through high quality exhibitions, educational outreach and related arts programming at the Center and other locations such as schools, colleges, and including collaborations with corporate entities, museums, libraries, galleries and other arts organizations.

Atlantic City Art Center Winter Membership Show 2008 - Calling all members and prospective members. Want to participate in the Art Center's Annual Winter Membership? If you're not a member you can sign up for a $30 yearly membership. If you're already a member and are unsure of your status, you may call ahead of time to check your membership status. Drop off dates for the exhibition are Nov. 29 - Dec. 1. The opening reception is Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 5PM-7PM.
Art Center Announces Schedule for 2009
Saturday Art Classes To Resume At Art Center
The
Atlantic City Art Center, in conjunction with the African-American
Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, Inc., presents a look at
African-American Heritage. Featured exhibit is
Gene Hudgins and the
Yard – The saga of
Pennsylvania Avenue School Yard and its impact on Atlantic City,
southern New Jersey and the region. Gene Hudgins went from Atlantic
City High School basketball stardom to college celebrity to
professional basketball with the world famous Harlem Globe Trotters.
Returning to Atlantic City, Hudgins made
the Yard
the incubator for scores
of local and regional business, civic, political and educational
leaders who played basketball at this local mecca and flourished
under his mentorship.
Additionally for the month of November, Rod Robinson, Esq., a
photographer of African landscapes will be on display along with Van
Buren N. Payne, a painter who uses varied media.
The opening reception for this exhibit will be Friday, November 7, 2008 from 6-9PM.
